A quick experiment - what do you get if you Google "JW.org"?
by cedars inhi guys.
i've noticed that a significant number of inbound search engine visits to jwsurvey.org are coming from the keyword "jw.org" - it's currently around 3 to 5 visits per hour.
i quite like the thought that i'm getting extra traffic thanks to jws typing the address of the official website in their search bar rather than their address bar.. i've done a quick check, and i've noticed that although jw.org occupies the top ranking for this keyword, four of the other links to websites/videos on the first page are all anti-watchtower, including jwsurvey.org and jwleaks.org.. sometimes google tailors its results to suit the individual, so i'm curious to know - is everyone else finding the same thing when they do a search for this keyword?.

It's a ©2013 WTBTS video production.
Soon that sign will coming down - the latest when they move out.
If their logo goes into oblivion soon, many would love that also.

Why does JW.org need a registered trademark?
by cedars ini've just noticed that the logo for jw.org is a registered trademark.. this is how the logo appears on the back cover of the new magazines.... .
maybe i'm overthinking this, but i'm struggling to understand why a website for a religious organization that purports to be involved in not-for-profit educational work needs to register a trademark for its website.
a trademark is something commercial companies use to protect their goods or services.

Yeah - "Jehovah's Witnesses Organization", a trademark name like PitStop or "United Nations Organization".

No worries: Multitasking is not my specialty either.

Cedars, welcome to the club.
So far I only can discern that it is designed exclusively for the new online market presence (a real brainy logo, isn't it?).

By all means.
This site spews out more valuable information on any subject keyed into the search box
than any of the new 16 page public magazines will ever regurgitate from the WTBTS vault.
It counteracts the psychotic reading of the WTBTS publications immensely.

Guess where the WTBTS suggests elders should get treatment? (Please read carefully)
When severe distress persists, though, it is well to recall Jesus’ words: “Persons in health do not need a physician, but the ailing do.” (Matthew 9:12) Many distressed persons are reluctant to see a physician. Elders and family members may thus need to encourage a brother to seek medical attention, such as having a thorough examination by a trusted doctor. Says Professor Maurice J. Martin: “A wide variety of physical diseases masquerade as psychiatric disorders.” And even where mental illness really is involved, effective treatments often exist.
The wife of an elder tells how her disturbed husband “became afraid to be around the brothers and didn’t want to go to the meetings. . . . He desperately wanted to die!” But after he received professional medical attention, his wife was able to report: “He is no longer deeply depressed, nor does he want to stay away from meetings. This morning he gave the public talk!”

I was told these days you can hand in the report up to the 20th the month following (not the 6th like it used to be) and still be counted as regular publisher. Is this correct?

JW tour bus crashes in Florida, with fatalities-
by moshe inmiami - a bus carrying 32 members of a church group hit a concrete overpass at miami international airport after the driver got lost, killing two elderly people on board and leaving three others critically injured, officials said saturday.. the large, white bus was too tall for the 8-foot-6-inch entrance to the arrivals area, said airport spokesman greg chin.
buses are supposed to go through the departures area, which has a higher ceiling, he said.. chin said the passengers told him they were part of a group of jehovah's witnesses headed to west palm beach.
police said in a news release that the group had chartered the bus to take them to a church convention there-.

JW.ORG | Headlines issues this statement:
Fatal Bus Crash in Miami
DECEMBER 3, 2012 | UNITED STATES
On Saturday, December 1, 2012, a group of 32 of Jehovah’s Witnesses was traveling on a chartered bus to West Palm Beach, Florida for a two-day Bible education seminar when the bus crashed into an overpass at Miami International Airport at 7:25 a.m. Two Witnesses were killed and four others are in critical condition. Police reports indicate that the driver of the bus, who is not one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, “mistakenly entered the airport” while heading to West Palm Beach. J. R. Brown, spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses, states: “We now draw on our spiritual family for Bible-based comfort.”

Just wondering: When that truck (lorry) crashed in Nigeria a couple of weeks ago, did they also publish a newsline?

Jehovah's Witnesses dismayed by new magazine format from Watchtower Society.
by Balaamsass inwow.
i was surprised this week by calls from active jws complaining about the new magazine format, and more begging for money from the platform.. frankly i was surprized by this reaction since this is old news to jwn members.
i guess actually shuffling to the bookroom and grabbing the new "awake tracts" minus the inside cover forward ...awakened many sleepy, catatonic, bored jws who never read the things or go on the internet anyway.. any feedback from other areas?.

Before long the WTBTS will run an all-out online religion for the affluent populace with an podcast and download presence.
